Six ways to help the Credit Union

1.  Become a member of St Albans District Credit Union and encourage others to join.

 

2.  Consider borrowing from the Credit Union – the funds are there for every member. If you ever borrow on a credit card, store card or from a finance company compare our rate of 12.7% APR, automatic life assurance* and no set-up fee with the charges the alternatives offer

 

3.  Become a helper. There are opportunities for members to be actively involved in operating the credit union, for example, by taking responsibility for setting up and running a collection point. There is also a range of opportunities that arise from time to time for people with specific skills, e.g. marketing, accountancy or loans management. All helpers are required to sign an undertaking of confidentiality.

 

4.  Spread the word among friends and local groups or by distributing leaflets or assisting at local events.

 

5.  Identify the need and suggest the location of collection points.

 

6.  Ask your employer to start a payroll deduction scheme to save with the Credit Union.
